Live Tracks
Peter Gabriel überraschte im Sommer 2007 mit einer Compilation von Songs und Raritäten als kostenlose Beilage der britischen Zeitung „The Mail On Sunday“. Außerdem ging er relativ spontan auf Open-Air-Tour mit ungewöhnlicher Songauswahl. Die Setlist der Warm Up Tour basierte auf einem Fan-Voting auf seiner Website mit dem Ergebnis, dass viele lange nicht mehr gespielte Songs den Weg auf die Bühne fanden. Erfreulich war die Tatsache, dass von jedem Konzert ein unbearbeiteter Live-Mitschnitt als Doppel-CD über das Label TheMusic.com veröffentlicht wurde. Somit sind alle gespielten Songs auf CD erhältlich. Geprobt, aber nicht gespielt wurden: Waiting For The Big One, And Through The Wire, This Is The Picture (Excellent Birds), Love To Be Loved, Make Tomorrow Today und The Drop…

In Peters Kopf spukte seit einiger Zeit die Projekt-Idee herum, Songs anderer Künstler zu covern und im Gegenzug eine Coverversion eines seiner Werke zu bekommen. Für diese Idee suchte er sich Lieblings-Songs heraus und reduziert deren Arrangement für eine eigene Interpretation auf ein Minimum, wozu er Tastenmann Jason Rebello für initiale Experiemtier-Sessions zur Hilfe nimmt. Ein Song dieser Phase, der es nicht zur nächsten Stufe schaffte, wird erst 16 Jahre später veröffentlicht…
