Im Dezember 1996 spielte Steve Hackett einige Shows in Japan, um sein dort zuvor erschienenes Album Genesis Revisited
zu promoten. Neben Steve waren Julian Colbeck, Ian McDonald (King Crimson), John
Wetton und Chester Thompson Teil der Band. Einen Konzertbericht dieser Shows von Hisao Chida aus dem Jahr 1997 findet ihr hier auf unserer Website.

Später erschienen ein
Live-Album und ein Konzertfilm unter dem Titel The Tokyo Tapes (eine Rezension des Live-Albums ist hier verfügbar). Ian McDonald und John Wetton sind mittlerweile beide verstorben.

Esoteric / CherryRed haben nun, nachdem das Album längere Zeit nicht
verfügbar war, das 2CD/DVD-Bundle neu aufgelegt. Es wird Anfang des
Jahres wieder im Handel sein und in Deutschland kann es beispielsweise
bei JPC vorbestellt werden. Dies ist also eine Gelegenheit, ggf. eine Lücke in der Sammlung zu schließen.

Bereits im Frühjahr erschien anlässlich des Record Store Day eine weiße Vinyl-Variante des Albums (wir berichteten).
