Hi Helmut,
Thankyou for your letter, as always and I am grateful to the readers of your magazine for the love and support they have given me through e-mail and gifts, cards, etc, at Christmas.
I thought I would write a letter to the readers and explain my thoughts and feelings at the moment as well as the plans for Cut and any solo work.
Since Genesis decided not to continue last July, I have had a number of disappointments personally and musically. It took me until recently to come to terms with many things and now that I have I am pleased to say I have started writing again as well as smiling a bit more often. It was a great honour to be asked to sing for Genesis and I’m sure you can imagine my feelings when they told me that they would not continue. I feel sure that something will happen in the future with the original line up but I don’t know that for sure. I would love to work with Mike and Tony again in any capacity as they are good people and incredibly gifted.
With regard to my own career and that of Cut, I am writing again now, after a break from music for a few months, and I feel sure the end result will be better than before and certainly passionate.
I have a gig in Hannover with the Scorpions on the 22nd of this month and I am very much looking forward to it, especially given that the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing also. I am designing a bigger and more interesting web-site at the moment and it will include a lot of Photo’s and music from the last ten years as well as video clips from the making of Congo and a great photo of Mike in his boxer shorts. I would also like to say that Virgin have not dropped the band, they are waiting for new material like everyone else.
Once again Helmut, thankyou for your help and support and I send much love to the readers of the Genesis fanzine.
Kind Regards
Ray Wilson
